Welcome to Berlin! When flying to Germany's capital, you have two airports to choose from: Tegel (TXL) in the North of the city, and Schönefeld in the South.

Getting to and leaving from TXL Airport

Berlin Tegel "Otto Lilienthal" Airport formerly served West Berlin. The airport is named after Otto Lilienthal and is one of the busiest airports in Germany. TXL is a hub for Eurowings as well as base for EasyJet, and Germania. It features flights to several European metropolitan and leisure destinations as well as some intercontinental routes. TXL is situated 8 km (5.0 mi) northwest of the city centre of Berlin and is notable for its hexagonal main terminal building around an open square, which makes walking distances as short as 30 m (98 ft) from the aircraft to the terminal exit.

Getting to and leaving from SXF Airport

Berlin Schönefeld Airport is the second international airport of Berlin. It is located 18 km (11 mi) southeast of Berlin and the smaller of the two airports in Berlin. It was the major civil airport of East Germany (GDR) and the only airport of the former East Berlin. Part of Schönefeld's existing infrastructure is set to be incorporated into the neighbouring Berlin Brandenburg Airport in the near future. Schönefeld's terminals are intended to be used until at least 2023 to handle low-cost carriers as part of the new airport.

This airport is quick and easy to reach, whether by car or with public transport. You can also use vehicles from the car sharing providers DriveNow and car2go to get to Berlin-Schönefeld Airport. The car sharing parking spaces are located in the northern sector of the P6 car park. Both providers charge an airport fee for use.
