No. Only children under the age of 6 travel free of charge.
Nationwide bicycle transport is not included in the Deutschlandticket. Supplementary or deviating regulations in accordance with the local regulations of the associations are permitted on site. To take a bicycle with you on the VBB in conjunction with the Deutschlandticket, you must also purchase a bicycle fare ticket or a Deutschlandtarif day pass for bicycles.
To travel on the VBB by bicycle, you also need a bicycle ticket in accordance with the VBB tariff, Annex 4, Table 3. VBB bicycle tickets (e.g. VBB monthly bike tickets) can be combined with the Deutschlandticket for journeys on the VBB.
For journeys on local rail transport in Germany, a day pass for bicycles in the German tariff is required (see Bicycle day ticket for local transport).
For information on the tariff regulations for taking bicycles on journeys in other local transport areas, please contact the respective local transport associations and companies.
The Deutschlandticket does not include nationwide dog transport. Supplementary or deviating regulations in accordance with the local regulations of the associations are permitted on site. This is why a dog can also travel free of charge with the Deutschlandticket in the VBB network area. The provisions of the VBB tariff apply.
Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge on public transport and do not require a Deutschlandticket. Children aged 6 and over must purchase a ticket.
The Deutschlandticket is only valid in 2nd class. With the launch of the Deutschlandticket, a transition to 1st class is possible in accordance with the existing tariff regulations of the local transport associations. If you are already using a transition ticket on the VBB to travel in 1st (e.g. as an annual travel card) or purchase a new transition ticket (as a single journey, 24-hour ticket, 7-day and monthly ticket or annual ticket), this is valid together with the Deutschlandticket in the network area. Please note the applicable provisions of the VBB Tariff Part D.
The Deutschlandticket is also accepted in the VBB region on some long-distance Deutsche Bahn trains with fare acceptance on local services. Passengers with the Deutschlandticket can use the trains on the Berlin Hbf - Elsterwerda (IC), Berlin Südkreuz - Prenzlau (ICE) and one IC train pair Potsdam Hbf - Cottbus at no extra charge. The Deutschlandticket is not valid for all other long-distance services (e.g. ICE, IC, EC) in Berlin and Brandenburg. Further information here on vbb.de.
Please note: The Deutschlandticket is also only valid on approved long-distance trains in 2nd class. Use of the Deutschlandticket in combination with a transition ticket for 1st class is not permitted on long-distance trains that are authorised for the VBB tariff.
