It applies to ordered regional rail transport services (RE, FEX, RB and IRE) regardless of the operator and to other local public transport services. The Deutschlandticket is also accepted in the VBB region on some long-distance Deutsche Bahn trains with fare acceptance on local services. Passengers with the Deutschlandticket can use the trains on the connections Berlin Hbf - Elsterwerda (IC), Berlin Südkreuz - Prenzlau (ICE) and an IC train pair Potsdam Hbf - Cottbus at no extra charge. The Deutschlandticket is not valid for all other long-distance services (e.g. ICE, IC, EC) in Berlin and Brandenburg. The Deutschlandticket is not valid on long-distance buses. It also does not apply to means of transport that are operated primarily for tourist purposes (e.g. museum railways, excursion boats).

The Deutschlandticket can be purchased as a season ticket from all transport companies in the VBB. Depending on the transport company, you can apply online, send an exchange form and, optionally, apply at staffed points of sale for selected transport companies. The Deutschlandticket can also be purchased from the VBB as a mobile phone ticket.
Customers who already have a subscription should refer to the information provided by their contractual partner. All transport companies offer their season ticket holders a discount-free transfer to the Deutschlandticket.

The Deutschlandticket is a season ticket and is available in the VBB via a VBB-fahrCard (electronic chip card) or as a mobile phone ticket. All transport companies in the VBB offer the Deutschlandticket on the VBB-fahrCard (chip card). Please contact your local transport company directly to purchase. You can also purchase the ticket in the apps "Deutschlandticket" (iOS/Android) and "HandyTicket Deutschland" (iOS/Android) with your existing account without registering again, provided you already have an account in the VBB app. Alternatively, you can also use the BVG, Deutsche Bahn and S-Bahn Berlin GmbH apps.

Yes. It is therefore not available from the train crew, customer service staff on the trains or from ticket machines.

The Deutschlandticket is valid within the fare limits of the participating transport associations, i.e. the validity of the ticket ends with the last stop in the respective fare zone. This means that foreign stops in Poland, which are currently covered by the VBB fare zone, can also be reached with the Deutschlandticket. For example, journeys to Słubice can be made using transport operated by Stadtverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Frankfurt/Oder (SVF), journeys to Krajnik Dolny can be made using transport operated by Uckermärkische Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (UVG) and journeys to Gubin can be made using transport operated by Spree-Neiße-Cottbusverkehr GmbH. The Deutschlandticket is not valid on regional rail services to Poland, e.g. not to Szczecin. Please note the applicable provisions of the VBB Tariff Part E.

For the use of alternative forms of transport, e.g. on-call buses or on-demand systems, convenience surcharges or comparable surcharges may be levied in accordance with the regulations of the respective transport associations. The tariff regulations of the respective transport association apply. Please note the applicable provisions of the VBB Tariff Part D.

If the Deutschlandticket is issued as a VBB-fahrCard, the monthly price for the Deutschlandticket will be debited from your account by direct debit. When issued as a mobile phone ticket, other non-cash payment methods are also possible. These are based on the conditions of the respective contractual partner (transport company from which you receive your season ticket).

Yes, a Deutschlandticket Job is also offered in addition to the Deutschlandticket. If the employer contributes at least 25 per cent (= EUR 14.50) to the issue price (EUR 58), an additional public transport discount of 5 per cent (= EUR 2.90) is granted. This means that the Deutschlandticket Job costs EUR 55.10 on sale. The employer's contribution of EUR 14.50 to its employees means that it costs the employee a maximum of EUR 40.60 per month. For more information, please contact your transport company or your employer.
There are currently no further discounts for other customer groups. They can purchase the Deutschlandticket for 58 euros per month.

Yes, since 1 April 2024, students at many universities in Berlin and Brandenburg have been offered the Deutschlandsemesterticket. The fare for the Deutschlandsemesterticket is 60 per cent of the price of the regular Deutschlandticket. Further information
