Taking public transport to BER Airport
Public transportation connections to Berlin-Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport enable passengers to travel to and from their flights without a car.
There is a wide range of local and long-distance public transport options, bringing passengers from all regions of the VBB network to BER and back home again – whether by S-Bahn, regional train, airport express (FEX), bus, or night bus!
To get from Berlin city center to BER and vice versa, a single ABC ticket costing €4.70 (from January 1, 2026: €5.00) is required. The regular VBB fare applies without any surcharge.
With the timetable change on December 14, 2025, the Dresden Railway will be opened for use by regional and long-distance trains in the Berlin area. This will close an important gap in the rail network of Berlin and its surrounding area. In particular, public transport connections to BER Airport can now be implemented as originally planned since BER went into operation. From December, this will enable a fast, stable connection between Berlin and BER Airport to be offered with significantly reduced travel times and frequent services.
For example, there will be a new route for the FEX airport express line: twice-hourly services and halved travel times from Berlin Central Station. This will almost halve the travel time from Berlin Central Station to BER Airport from 39 minutes today to around 23 minutes. From Potsdamer Platz, it will take only about 19 minutes, and from Südkreuz, only 14 minutes.
All details on the entire connection to BER, to and from Berlin and the entire Brandenburg area, can be found here.
